This Month, Thank Mom For Her Life Lessons

mothersday

Absolutely nothing will ever come close to the love a mother has for her kid. Mothers contribute such an essential component in our lives. They are constantly there to give us the strength to confront any kind of problems that we may encounter throughout our lives while giving us life lessons we might not realize we’re getting.

So while May is the month to celebrate Mom for always being there, it’s also a time to really dig deep and realize all the life lessons you got along the way that are helping you today as an adult. Whether you realize it or not, even when she was giving you chores, you were learning lessons for air quality!

Playing with Fire - Never Advisable

dontdothatAs a kid, lighting a fire was likely a big no-no in your home. And even lighting it outside was never a good idea. Although fire is great for heating up in the winter, cooking in the summer, or even lighting your yard in the form of a fire pit, even the smallest flame can turn into an uncontrollable disaster.

Mom knew that which is why she likely never let you play with matches. As an adult, you now realize that fires can pose serious risks for your property.

Whether it’s a house fire, toxic gases that stem from fires affecting your lungs, or general dangers to your landscaping and wellbeing, fire is still not advisable to play with.

That Green Thumb Can Help Your Health

gardeningYard work can be a drag, especially during the summer months when temperatures were at their highest. Yet, without fail, your mom likely had you outdoors pulling weeds, fertilizing new plants, and picking some veggies to add to that night’s salad.

While it seemed annoying at the time, as an adult, you can now appreciate the natural food she was trying to give you. Not only that, but all those plants and life helped to clean the air inside of and around your home.

If your yard has been lacking a little love and life, now might be the right time to remember mom’s lessons. A green thumb is a great way to help your family and your own life. Whether it’s as simple as adding some flowers - which boosts your curb appeal - or planting an entire garden, mom always knew best.

Clean The Floors - It Helps the Air

vacuumfloorAs far as chores go, cleaning the floor could be at the bottom of the list. It was tedious, and depending on the size of your home, could be an all-day affair. While it seems incessant, it could have been helping your home more than you know.

Sure it helps keep your floor looking clean, but sweeping regularly could help prevent impurities from making their way into your air conditioner. Your AC helps to distribute air throughout your home.

If it’s dirty or full of dust, it’s also moving that into the air your breathe. Remembering to change your air filter regularly can be a great help, but if you want to do more to keep your AC in top shape, be sure to sweep as well. Our moms are great, and always want the best for us, even if we don’t realize it.

So the next time you’re remembering all those annoying chores you used to do as a kid, think about how they might have changed your life, and be sure to tell mom this Mother’s Day. From Skovron Mechanical Services LLC., happy Mother’s Day to all those special ladies out there - we thank you for all your life lessons.
